Clinical Investigation Pathway
The CIP Bootcamp takes place during an elective block in early fall. It includes the foundational course in biostatistics, a series of lectures and hands-on workshops led by a Harvard catalyst biostastician that includes a free, two year subscription to the Harvard catalyst biopstatistics certificate course. It also includes journal clubs, question and answer sessions with clinical investigators at all stages of their career, lectures on obtaining federal grants and research design, and evening dinners with faculty. A particular highlight of the course is a field trip; most recently, we visited the Federal Drug Administration in Washington, D.C.
“The trip to the FDA really opened my eyes to the diversity of career paths available to the clinical investigator – and it was so fun exploring Washington, D.C. together with my resident colleagues”
“The biostatistics course was a huge bonus – both for practical applications to my current research projects, and the boost to my CV”
“I loved meeting clinical investigators from the beginning, middle, and advanced stages of their respective careers – their advice helped me visualize my future career paths”
